Types of YB-E Series Vane Pumps

The YB-E series hydraulic vane pumps with displacements ranging from 3 to 50 mL/rev. These pumps operate at pressures up to 7 MPa and speeds between 600 and 1800 rpm.

YB-E Single Pump (Medium Displacement): Displacements of 16, 20, 25, 32, and 40 mL/rev. Rotor diameter increases from 62 mm (low displacement) to 82 mm (medium displacement). These pumps require larger housing castings and heavier shaft bearings (6205 or 6305 series). Applications include injection molding machines and metal forming equipment, where flow rates of 30 to 60 L/min at 1440 rpm are needed.

YB-E Single Pump (High Displacement): Displacement values of 50, 63, and 80 mL/rev. The stator ring has an elliptical profile with a major axis of 90 mm and a minor axis of 78 mm. Vanes are 18 mm wide compared to 12 mm in low-displacement types. Maximum flow reaches 115 L/min at 1440 rpm and 7 MPa. These pumps are installed on heavy-duty hydraulic power units for steel mill equipment.

YB-E Double Pump (Two Cartridges in Series): A single shaft drives two pump cartridges housed in an extended body. Displacement combinations include 10+10, 16+16, 25+25, and 40+25 mL/rev. Each cartridge has separate inlet and outlet ports. Total length increases by 80 mm compared to single pumps. Double pumps provide two independent flow circuits from one prime mover, used in hydraulic systems with separate pilot and main circuits.

YB-E High- Pressure Pump (10 MPa Version): Modified stator ring and side plates with increased wall thickness. The ring material changes from ductile iron to forged steel. Side plates receive a bronze alloy layer of 0.5 to 0.8 mm thickness. Pressure rating is 10 MPa continuous, 12.5 MPa intermittent. This type is specified for construction machinery where system pressure exceeds standard hydraulic oil applications.

YB-E Variable Displacement Vane Pump: An internal pressure-compensated control ring allows displacement adjustment from 0 to 100 percent. Control pressure range is 2 to 7 MPa. Response time is 0.3 to 0.6 seconds for a full stroke. Variable types are less common in the YB-E series, representing approximately 5 percent of production. They are used in test benches and hydraulic dynamometers where flow must match varying load demands.

Materials Used in YB-E Series Vane Pumps

Housing Material

The pump body is cast from HT250 gray cast iron. Composition includes 3.2 to 3.5 percent carbon, 1.8 to 2.2 percent silicon, 0.6 to 0.9 percent manganese, and less than 0.12 percent phosphorus. Tensile strength is 250 MPa minimum. Hardness ranges from 190 to 240 HB. The casting is annealed at 550°C for 2 hours to relieve internal stresses. Porosity is controlled by vacuum impregnation with sodium silicate. Housing wall thickness is 8 mm for low-pressure versions and 12 mm for high-pressure types.

Rotor Material

Rotor blanks are forged from 45# medium-carbon steel (Chinese standard equivalent to AISI 1045). Composition: 0.42 to 0.50 percent carbon, 0.17 to 0.37 percent silicon, 0.50 to 0.80 percent manganese. Yield strength is 355 MPa. Rotors are case-hardened to 55 to 60 HRC to a depth of 0.8 to 1.2 mm. The core hardness remains 25 to 30 HRC. Rotor slots (10 or 12 slots per rotor) are broached with a surface finish of Ra 0.4 microns. Slot width tolerance is ±0.005 mm.

Stator Ring Material

The stator ring (also called the cam ring) is made from 20CrMo steel alloy. Composition: 0.17 to 0.24 percent carbon, 0.17 to 0.37 percent silicon, 0.40 to 0.70 percent manganese, 0.80 to 1.10 percent chromium, and 0.15 to 0.25 percent molybdenum. The ring is carburized to 58 to 62 HRC at the inner profile. Core hardness is 30 to 35 HRC. The elliptical inner surface is ground to Ra 0.2 microns after heat treatment. Profile accuracy is maintained within ±0.003 mm.

Vanes Material

Vanes are produced from high-speed steel (W6Mo5Cr4V2, similar to M2) or sintered tungsten carbide. The high-speed steel composition: 0.80 to 0.90 percent carbon, 4.5 to 5.5 percent molybdenum, 5.5 to 6.5 percent tungsten, 3.8 to 4.4 percent chromium, and 1.75 to 2.20 percent vanadium. Hardness is 62 to 65 HRC. Vane thickness ranges from 1.6 mm to 2.5 mm depending on displacement. Edges are radiused to 0.05-0.10 mm to reduce stress concentrations. Tungsten carbide vanes (WC-6Co grade) are optional for pumps running on low-lubricity fluids; their hardness is 88 to 92 HRA.

Side Plates (Pressure Plates)

Side plates are made from ductile iron QT600-3 or hardened 40Cr steel. For standard pumps, QT600-3 provides tensile strength of 600 MPa and elongation of 3 percent. The side plate surface facing the rotor receives a lead-bronze coating (CuPb10Sn10) with a thickness of 0.3 to 0.5 mm. Bronze composition: 78 to 82 percent copper, 9 to 11 percent lead, and 9 to 11 percent tin. This layer acts as a sacrificial bearing surface during startup. For high-pressure versions (10 MPa), side plates are made of 40Cr steel, hardened to 45 to 50 HRC, with a babbitt overlay of 0.1 mm.
